Nine Postdoctoral or PhD Positions in Machine Vision and Learning

Heidelberg University invites applications for nine positions to be filled by senior researchers and PhD students. The positions are affiliated with the Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing (HCI, hci.iwr.uni-heidelberg.de), which comprises four research groups (Hamprecht, Ommer, Rother, Schnörr) focused on the themes of Image Analysis and Learning, Computer Vision, Visual Learning, and Mathematical Image Analysis. Postdocs will be hired for an initial period of two years, PhD students for three years with the option of further extension (funding already secured).
Prospective candidates have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. Postdoctoral applicants must have published in first-rate venues for Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Mathematical Imaging. Besides a strong mathematical background, we require fluency in advanced C++ or python programming as well as in English.
The gross salary ranges from 45.8kEUR to 71.6kEUR (i.e. TVL/13 up to TVL/14) plus social benefits, depending on qualification and experience. The envisioned starting date is Spring 2018 but is negotiable.
