We are recruiting a Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow, to conduct a programme of methodological work aimed at making systematic reviews more efficient, including development and/or evaluation of automated or semi-automated approaches to identifying, summarizing, critiquing and synthesizing research studies in various topic areas.
The post lies within the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), which aims to translate scientific discoveries to improve the health of NHS patients and the public. The post-holder will also work closely with members of the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit at the University of Bristol, with other staff and students at the University, and with external collaborators. Part of the role involves the coordination of systematic review work within the BRC, under the supervision of Professor Julian Higgins.
The successful candidate is likely to have a high level of understanding and experience in text mining/machine learning with a strong interest in applying these skills to systematic reviews. We will also consider candidates with a high level of understanding and experience in systematic reviews if they have a strong computing background.
