Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the Communications Engineering research group at the department of Communications and Networking, Aalto University, Finland. The main tasks of the candidate is to conduct high quality research and assist in research proposal preparation and project management. In addition to research work, postdoctoral researcher is expected to participate to the supervision of students and teaching related to the applicant's research topics.
The ideal candidate should have project-based experience and publication record in any of the following topics
Software Defined Radio implementation issues / Cloud based Radio Access Networks
Ambient Backscatter Communications
5G Ultra Dense Networks
5G Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications
Massive Machine Type Communications
Quantum Communications / Quantum radar
or some closely related topic.
Development skills in Matlab and C are required. Good mathematical modelling and optimizations skills are desirable. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are prerequisite. The successful candidates will join the research team of Professor Riku Jäntti.
SALARY AND CONTRACT TERMS
The contract period is for two years with possibility for extension up to five years. The salary level for a postdoctoral researcher at the department is typically between 3500 and 3690 euros per month (subject to income tax), depending on experience and qualifications. The contract includes occupational health care services and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.
The candidate must have completed his or her PhD degree before the start of the contract period, and efficient and successful completion of studies is considered an additional merit. The selected candidate is expected to join the research group by September 2018.
