We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Machine Learning to join the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance and the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford). The post is fixed-term for 24 months.
The successful applicant will research next generation methods in machine learning for decision making in complex environments with an emphasis on applications to the automated analysis of financial market data.
In this role, you will have significant freedom to explore and develop new suitable methods in machine learning and decision making inspired by the challenges arising within finance and it is expected that you will collaborate closely with the with the research team of AHL (www.ahl.com) on application to real-world problems.
You should possess a good first degree in information engineering, quantitative finance, physics, computer science, mathematics, control, statistics or similar and have, or are about to complete, a PhD in a relevant area. Experience in machine learning and in the analysis of complex, noisy data is essential, as well as expertise and experience in computer programming. Experience in the application of machine learning to decision making methods is desirable. Prior experience in financial data analysis is desirable but not essential. You should have a track record of published work concomitant with experience and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
