Website : https://www.unileoben.ac.at/~rortner
Description
Prof. Auer's institute at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben has an opening for a PostDoc with strong background in mathematics (such as dynamic programming, probability theory, statistics, optimization, OR) and interest in reinforcement learning.
This position is fully funded for 3 years starting in January 2018, and it is part of the European coordinated research project "DELTA: Dynamically Evolving Long-Term Autonomy".
DELTA is a joint research project involving partners from Austria, Belgium, France, and Spain. Work will include visits to and collaboration with other sites. Our focus will be on the development and analysis of reinforcement learning algorithms for exploration in changing environments. Starting point is the UCRL algorithm [Jaksch et al., Near-optimal regret bounds for reinforcement learning, JMLR (11) 1563-1600, 2010].
