Postdoc position in probabilistic machine learning and Gaussian process modeling at National University of Singapore

Country/Region : Singapore

Website : http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~lowkh/research.html

Description

We are hiring a postdoctoral fellow interested in advancing the state of the art in probabilistic machine learning (e.g., Bayesian non-parametric models such as the Gaussian process models, Bayesian deep learning, Bayesian optimization, kernel selection, automatic machine learning, privacy-preserving machine learning) for a period of 1 year (starting Sep-Oct 2017) with possible extension/renewal.
The postdoctoral fellow will be based in the School of Computing of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and have the opportunity to co-advise and collaborate with PhD and undergraduate students in our research group (for more information on our research group and interests, visit http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~lowkh/research.html).
This postdoctoral fellow position is financially supported by the Singapore's Ministry of Education Academic Research Fund Tier 2 competitive grant under the project theme: "Scaling up Gaussian Process Predictive Models for Big Data" for the duration of July 2017 to July 2020. Salary is competitive, with possible support to travel to conferences for dissemination of research results.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in machine learning, computer science, statistics or other related disciplines. A good publication record in the premier machine learning and AI conferences and/or journals is preferred. He/she must have a strong proficiency in programming.
If you are interested to apply, please send a short cover letter describing your suitability for the position, detailed CV with publication list (highlighting 3 selected research papers and attaching copies of them to your application), a concise description of research interests and future research plans, and academic transcripts to:
