Ph.D. Scholarships at Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), Potsdam

The Hasso Plattner Institute for Software Systems Engineering (HPI) in Potsdam is Germany’s university excellence center in Computer Science. HPI is the only university faculty in Germany where a degree program in "IT Systems Engineering" is completely and privately financed made possible by founder Prof. Hasso Plattner. Plattner is co-founder of the software giant SAP, where he serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. One of the HPI's major goals is to become an elite, world-class educational facility. The institute already offers an optimal study and work environment.
The multimedia analysis and deep learning research group is recruiting for the position of a PhD / junior researcher in the fields of:
- Computer Vision
- Machine Learning/Deep Learning
- Multimedia Analysis and Retrieval
- Medical Image Analysis
- Artificial Intelligence
The candidate should meet the following requirements:
- An outstanding master’s degree (or an equivalent university degree) in computer
science and will target a Ph.D. degree
- We expect eagerness to participate in teamwork, outstanding analytical
competence, and strong interest in current AI/ML research.
- Strong programming skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both in spoken and writing. Language
skills in German are welcome.
