Tianjin University of Technology (TJUT) is jointly constructed by the central government of China and the local government of Tianjin but mainly administered by the latter. It is a key comprehensive university located in Tianjin, with balanced disciplines offered in industry, science, art, economy, management and law. The university offers a whole range of degree programs at different levels. The university has 1750 full-time faculty, including two hundred and sixty-nine master's and doctoral candidate supervisors. More than 500 faculty hold senior professional and technological titles, including members of disciplinary assessment groups of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, candidates for the national talent program for the new century, young and middle-aged experts that provide outstanding contributions at the state level, talented individuals from the Ministry of Education, special professors of Tianjin, honored experts of Tianjin, experts enjoying the special all
owances from the State Council and special Haihe Scholars & professors, etc. The university has undertaken two hundred and twenty nine key projects at the national or provincial level that are supported by the Eleventh Five-year Plan, projects of the 973 and 863 Programs at the state level, etc. It has won 69 national awards for its scientific and technological progress and the faculty has published more than 10,000 scholarly papers.
The School of Computer Science & Engineering has more than 120 staff members and has National Engineering Lab of China, Key Lab of Ministry of Education and Tianjin Key Lab that host PhD candidates from all over the world. Especially, the Lab of Mobile Internet of things and Lab of Wireless Communications and Networking are recruiting PHD Candidates around the world.
The school is inviting high-quality and enthusiastic junior researchers to join the school as tenure-track (assistant) professors. Applicants will have been awarded a PhD degree in telecommunications or in a closely related discipline within 5 years of the closing date. PhD candidates whose thesis is under examination at the closing date, and PhD candidates who will submit their PhD thesis by 30 December 2017 may also apply.
Applicants should have strong background in the aforementioned research areas (such as telecommunications, wireless communications and wireless networking) and have demonstrated strong research performance & capabilities, evidenced by publications in top international journals and conferences. Preference may be given to candidates with established publication record in the fields of large-scale wireless networks, intelligent transport systems and vehicular networks, social networks, wireless sensor networks and mobile crowd sensing.
Successful applicants are expected to start in 2017 or early 2018. It is a requirement that the successful applicant should also apply for Young 1000 Talents Program.
The successful applicants will be initially offered a tenure-track position. On meeting mutually agreed criteria at the end of the tenure-track period, the applicants will be offered a tenured position at the end of their tenure-track period.
Remuneration
Competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with the experience and track record of the successful applicant.
