We seek to appoint a permanent Lecturer or Senior Lecturer with established=
research expertise in Autonomous Systems or a related field. You should h=
old a PhD or be near to completion, and should be able to demonstrate a goo=
d track record in these research fields. Once in post, you are expected t=
o develop your own research portfolio, acquire external funding, supervise =
postdoctoral researchers and PhD students, publish in the highest quality j=
ournals and conferences, contribute to real-world applications with positi=
ve impacts on the wider society and economy, and to conduct, direct and sup=
ervise research in line with the targets set by the School.
You will be a key part of the Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (L-CAS)=
,which specialises in the integration of perception, learning, decision-mak=
ing, control and interaction capabilities in autonomous systems and the app=
lication of this research in fields such as agri-food, healthcare, intra-l=
ogistics, intelligent transportation, nuclear robotics, personal robotics a=
nd security. The L-CAS is one of the fastest growing robotics groups in the=
UK. We provide a highly-dynamic inter-disciplinary research environment w=
ith a broad range of collaboration opportunities and a large variety of rob=
ots to work with.
We are looking to recruit an individual =96 from an early careers researche=
r to a senior professional - who shares our ambition to become one of the w=
orld=92s leading robotics labs.We would particularly welcome applications f=
rom new areas that complement our existing research specialisms, including=
(but not limited to) interactive learning for robotics, reinforcement lear=
ning, learning from demonstration, deep learning or Bayesian methods, appli=
ed to areas of robotics such as (but not limited to) dexterous manipulation=
, haptics, human-robot collaboration, intelligent tele-operation, swarm ro=
botics, autonomous driving and agricultural robotics.
You will be expected to take an active part in the activities of the School=
of Computer Science, to contribute to its teaching activity at undergradua=
te and postgraduate levels, and to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining =
the University=92s high standards in teaching and learning.
The School of Computer Science at the University of Lincoln has scored high=
