The University of Pittsburgh recently made a major commitment to expanding faculty and facilities in the formation of a new School of Computing and Information (http://www.sci.pitt.edu). The Graduate Telecommunications and Networking Program within the School of Computing and Information has openings for new Ph.D. students starting Fall 2017. Fellowships are available in networking and telecommunications research for both wired and wireless networks on topics such as: spectrum management, wireless virtualization, cybersecurity for IoT, insider threat modeling and mitigation, urban informatics, social network analysis and modeling, cyber physical and smart grid communication systems, and resilient network design. Fellows are offered financial aid covering tuition and cost of living. The Graduate Telecommunications and Networking Program faculty have a track record of high quality research and peer reviewed external funding from government and corporate sources such as the Army Research Office, the National Science Foundation, NIST, NSA and others. Alumni of the program have been successful as faculty at leading universities (e.g., Syracuse University, Ohio University, Carnegie Mellon University) or as members of industrial research labs (e.g., AT&T, Apple, Cisco, Qualcomm).
