Positions at Max Planck Tuebingen. Learning, Causality, Image Processing

We are particularly interested in people who would like to study machine learning methods informed by the causal structure underlying a problem (e.g., in order to generalise across changing distributions). We also welcome applicants developing machine learning for problems of computational imaging (incl. photography, astronomy, ...).
We are agnostic about the methods used (deep learning, kernel methods, probabilistic modelling, or combinations thereof), as long as applicants have a strong scientific interest in fundamental questions and an excellent track record with publications at the top conferences in the field. We have outstanding students and offer the opportunity to collaborate and/or co-supervise.
My lab is located in Tuebingen, one of the nicest places in Germany, close to the Black Forest, Switzerland and France, with a vibrant research community. Knowledge of German is not necessary.
