The University of Bristol invites applications for a position in the area of machine learning for activity recognition from wearable sensors.
You will be part of the H2020 EurValve project team, working on Personalised Decision Support for Heart Valve Disease. The EurValve partners form a multi-disciplinary team from 13 academic and industrial partners from across Europe. The role of the University of Bristol is to develop wearable sensors and associated software that should enable clinicians to gain an understanding of a patient’s lifestyle insofar it is relevant to heart valve disease, and how a patient’s lifestyle is affected by different clinical interventions.
The advertised role is for the research and development of advanced machine learning techniques for activity recognition from sensor data. You will hold (or will be expected to obtain soon) a strong PhD in machine learning or related areas. In addition to a strong research track record you will also have excellent communication and presentation skills, and the enthusiasm to develop new and imaginative solutions for digital healthcare.
