Research Data Scientist Childern's Hospital of Philadelphia

We have an open research data scientist position in the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The successful applicant will work primarily in the context of a new multi-year grant focused on the application of machine learning methods to the study of pediatric diseases such as asthma and obesity. The study involves heterogeneous data (e.g. environmental factors, healthcare data) collected longitudinally that is both structured and unstructured (e.g. clinical text notes, images, physiological measures) for a large pediatric population.
Applicants should have an excellent background in mathematics, machine learning (preferably in the area of NLP or time-series analysis), and software development (preferably in Python or Scala).
