PhD in "Reasoning systems for home automation" at Polytechnic University of Marche Region

A Ph.D. position co-financed by MIND SRL is available at the Information Engineering Department ("Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione") of Polytechnic University of Marche Region (Universita' Politecnica delle Marche).
The main aim of the PhD is the design and development of a reasoning system for home automation based on the acquisition of multimodal data, in order to adapt and adhere to the needs of the users (ranging from their comfort to the interaction with several smart objects).
The student will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment and will have the opportunity to attend the major scientific conference and school in her/his research field. The student will face both theoretic and practical issues, having the possibility to experiment her/his research progresses in a real environment. The student will spend almost the 50% of her/his time in the facilities of MIND SRL, and the rest in the facilities of the Information Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of Marche Region.
The knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python,...) is desirable. Prior experience in logic programming, computer vision, deep learning, and internet of things is welcome.
