Duke University Postdoctoral Fellows in Machine Learning

Lawrence Carin’s research group at Duke University has several immediate openings for post-doctoral Fellows. The positions are focused on machine learning and applied statistics, with a particular recent emphasis on deep learning. We are seeking individuals who have recently (or will soon) earn a PhD in machine learning or statistics. Individuals selected for these post-doctoral positions will focus on developing new methodology in machine learning (fundamental research). The research is motivated by interest in multiple application areas, including image analysis, analysis of business-process data, and analysis of many aspects of medical and electronic-health-record data. Successful candidates will have a sophisticated knowledge of statistics and/or machine learning, excellent coding skills, and will communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
