Description

The Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, seeks applications for a 14-month Postdoc position in spatial data mining under joint mentoring of Professor Christian Igel (machine learning) and Associate Professor Marcos Vaz Salles (database systems).
The position is associated to the project GANDALF: Untargeted Fingerprinting Analysis and GIS Visualization of Contaminants ? A New Paradigm for Chemical Impact Assessment in Urban Development, supported by Innovation Fund Denmark (http://plen.ku.dk/english/research/env_chem_phys/a...). The project involves research and development of data-driven models for contaminant spreading taking into account the geospatial characteristics of the problem. Collaboration with a leading research group in analytical chemistry at the University of Copenhagen is expected (http://plen.ku.dk/english/research/env_chem_phys/a...), as well as with industrial and government partners, primarily MOE|Seacon (http://www.moe.dk/) and KMC Nordhavn (http://www.kk.dk/kmc), who have access to historical datasets of contamination within the city of Copenhagen.
