FOUR full-time PhD Positions in the area of Wireless Communications are available at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico.
STARTING DATE: August 2016.
SCHOLARSHIP: 100% tuition and living expenses.
DURATION: The grant has a duration of 48 months by maintaining a GPA of at least 90/100.
LOCATION: Monterrey, Mexico. (Main city in the Northeastern region of Mexico).

The Candidates will work in the National School of Engineering and Sciences in the Research Focus Group on Communications and Networks, under the guidance of Dr. Cesar Vargas and Dr. Leyre Azpilicueta. The admitted candidates will be in the Ph.D. program in Engineering Sciences with concentration on Telecommunications.

CHANNEL MODELING: novel approaches in order to model scenarios in which multiple wireless technologies operate. Hybrid techniques, statistical modeling, ray tracing, diffusion equation, neural networks, collaborative filtering, and interference mitigation. REQUIREMENTS

An official Master’s degree (obtained before August 2016) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Signal Processing, Communications, Computer Engineering, or related areas. If the candidate does not have a master’s degree, he/she can apply for the M.Sc. program in Electronic Engineering with concentration in Telecommunications with a full-time scholarship (100% tuition and living expenses for 2 years) and continue towards the Ph.D. degree if GPA is of at least 90/100.

The candidate should have strong analytical and programming skills.

Research interests to work in team or independently.

Excellent oral/written communication in English is required demonstrated by TOEFL test scores, or a degree from an Institution with primary instruction in English.

Admission test from Tecnologico de Monterrey (PAEP) with a score of at least 600 points, OR GRE scores of at least 650 points for the quantitative section, and 425 points for the verbal section.

TOEFL test score of at least 550 points or previous degree from an Institution with primary instruction in English.

Detailed extended version of CV with list of publications, and awards.

A letter describing your interest in the Ph.D. position and why you think you can be selected (max three pages).

Short statement of research interests and future vision on the field. (Description of your topic of interest maximum 5 pages).
