Fully PhD Position on Processing Speech and Images at KU Leuven

A fully funded PhD position is available in the Center for Processing Speech and Images at KU Leuven under the supervision of Prof. Matthew Blaschko. The position lies at the interface of machine learning and computer vision, with application to discriminative learning for segmentation of images and tomographies. The Center for Processing Speech and Images is a highly active research group that regularly publishes in the top conferences in machine learning (ICML, NIPS) and computer vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV). The working language of the group is English.
Leuven is a historic university city in Belgium 25 minutes from Brussels, boasting a beautiful and safe environment, excellent quality of life, a lively intellectual atmosphere, and some of the world's best beer. KU Leuven is consistently the top ranked university in Belgium and is ranked 35 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015.
The successful candidate will have excellent grades, a passion for science and research, and very good communication and technical skills. A masters degree in computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
