Country/Region : Oman

Website :

Two research positions are available in the research domain of Web Service for Internet of Things (IoT). Successful candidates shall work on the 6-IMS project funded by The Research Council of Oman.
The project aims at the design and development of a large-scale and interoperable architecture of heterogeneous networks and applications for intelligent (monitoring) systems using 6LowPAN as the core sensing and communication protocol. One of the main tasks of this work is the incorporation of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with IoT to realize the notion of Internet of Services (IoS). Service-oriented architecture suits particularly well in this scenario since it helps development of the ‘things’ as services, simple or complex. The main challenges to be tackled in the project include heterogeneity, service transparency, scalability, intelligent prediction, and context awareness.
