PhD Position-CIFRE at ITRON

Please find below an offer for a PhD position on the subject: "Massive Data in Smart Metering Networks: architectural issues and query processing "
This is a joint Industry/Academic PhD position between the LIRIS research lab (Villeurbanne France) and ITRON Company (Macon, France).
The PhD candidate will defend a Doctorate degree at University Lyon 1 that will start between October and December 2015.
The candidate will be employed by ITRON during 3 years and He/She will earn around 33700 euros (before taxes) per year.
The candidate will be part time in ITRON’s R&D department in Macon and part time in the GOAL team of LIRIS Villeurbanne.
The thesis directors are Hamida Seba (LIRIS) and Souleymane Mbengue (ITRON).
APPLICATION
We are looking for an excellent and motivated candidate having a Master in Computer Science or similar degree.
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Strong skills in database systems and graph theory.
- Background in Big data.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a group.
- Solid written and oral English.
