The Chair of Social Networks at ETH Zürich is offering a fully-funded two year postdoctoral research position in the field of ?social network dynamics? starting in September 2015. The Chair of Social Networks at ETH Zürich studies social networks by combining research approaches from the social sciences, statistics and computer science. We employ modern data collection practices and develop statistical methods with the aim of answering social science research questions and contributing to the social science literature.
Postdoctoral Research Position in the Field of ?Social Network Dynamics?
The research project will investigate the dynamics of social networks from a multidisciplinary perspective. It may involve the development of social network theory, planning and conducting of network data collection, development and application of statistical methods and development of scientific software. Details of the project will be developed with the successful candidate.
Successful candidates will have a PhD in social sciences, statistics, or computer science (or a related field) and have experience in social network methods and their application to social science research problems. The applicant must be fluent in English. Experience in the following fields will be considered a plus: Analytical Sociology and Social Network theory, survey-based or social sensor-based social network data collection, advanced understanding and/or development of statistical network models, software development and computational Social Science/Data Science.
