CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR TC CHAIR
The IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing (TCSC) is holding an
chair election for 2014-2015 (2 year term). In preparation for the
election, TCSC is conducting a call for nominations for the Chair
position.
After nominations are received, a ballot will be sent to all TCSC members
to vote for the next TC chair based on the slate of candidates.
Candidates
need to submit a brief biography and a position statement (up to one page
in length) for inclusion with the election ballot.
Chair Term: 2 years (Jan 2014-Dec 2015)
Key responsibilities:

1. Coordinating interaction with IEEE and volunteers
2. Forming and leading executive committee and maintaining discussion
lists
3. Supporting TCSC sponsored conferences and volunteers
4. Building/maintaining TCSC website with news, conferences,
and related resources
5. Managing TCSC Budget and Allocation in consultation with IEEE&
volunteers
6. Managing Awards Program by forming committees and supporting
implementation
7. Recruiting volunteers for managing resource centers and subgroups on
various topics associated with Scalable Computing areas
8. Managing TCSC newsletter and mailing list
9. Preparing Annual report for submission to IEEE and TCSC members
(e.g., http://www.cloudbus.org/~raj/tcsc/TCSC-AnnualRepor...)
10. Other duties are required by the IEEE and TCSC to serve its members
