FACULTY OF ENGINEERING, BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR (ONE POST)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Active participation and leadership in the research agenda of the Department;
? Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Computer Science;
? Departmental administrative tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate Professor:
? A Doctorate in Computer Science;
? Publications in accredited journals and conferences;
? Active engagement as a researcher in Computer Science, within one of the Department’s focus research areas;
? Extensive lecturing experience in Computer Science;
? Active in postgraduate supervision;
? At least national recognition as a researcher.
Professor: (as for Associate Professor plus)
? International recognition as a researcher, playing a leadership role in the discipline.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
