This in an invitation for excellent scientists to join Centre of Molecular Inflammation Research (CEMIR) at NTNU, Faculty of Medicine.We are seeking outstanding international candidates for positions as scientists with the possibility of establishing research groups within the field of molecular inflammation.
Successful candidates are expected to initiate a new research group with a clear relevance to molecular inflammation and function as group leader.
Start-up package
CEMIR provides attractive sustainable support packages for new group leaders over a five year period. The package can include PhD candidates and/or Postdoctoral fellows as well as a technician and consumables. Moreover, the position will enjoy access to the excellent infrastructure and laboratory facilities at CEMIR and at the affiliated Department of Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine. The laboratories have state of the art cellular imaging instruments such as: a high resolution STED confocal microscope, total internal reflection fluorescence microscope, live cell- and spinning disk confocal microscopes, image flow cytometer, cell sorter and also a confocal microscope installed in a biosafety level 3 facility. Moreover, CEMIR scientists have access to local core facilities in bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, imaging and research involving laboratory animals (http://www.ntnu.edu/dmf/core-facilities).
The candidates are expected to complement the budget through other national or international grants.
Qualifications
For this position the applicant must have:
2-7 years of experience after completion of PhD.
A PhD degree in the subject area recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD degree.
Appropriate postdoctoral training.
Experience with supervision and a track record of high-impact publications in top journals.
Considerable weight will be put on the research plan proposed by the candidate and on how this will integrate and synergize with the activity of other research groups at CEMIR and The Faculty of medicine, NTNU.

The top candidates will be invited to present their research in a talk and interview, and to provide a more detailed research plan.
Depending on qualifications and academic background, Researchers at the Faculty of Medicine will be remunerated at wage code 1109 - levels 57 to 77 on the Norwegian State salary scale, with gross salary from NOK 482 500,- to NOK 710 100 ,- a year, of which 2% is deducted for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund. Normal wage level is 57-72. A yearly amount for operating costs will be added.
