The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University seek applicants for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Engineering Design Education and Learning Systems. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: educational technologies, design education, engineering education, learning eco-systems, and learner analytics. We particularly encourage candidates interested in cross-cutting research areas such as human-centered design, socio-technical systems, impact of educational innovations, and research-to-practice mechanisms.
We seek applicants who will contribute to our programs, promote transdisciplinary teaching and research, and help the University to achieve its design aspirations such as enabling student success, transforming society, valuing entrepreneurship, and conducting use-inspired research. Extensive collaborations exist across the university and the current opening is intended to broaden our expertise and expand collaborations that support us as the New American University.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in engineering, engineering education, learning sciences, educational or cognitive psychology, or a related field; demonstrated evidence of research capability and commitment to teaching excellence as appropriate to the candidate’s rank. Desired qualifications include a commitment to a collaborative, transdisciplinary approach to research and teaching, with expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches.
Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and undertake service activities.
Appointments will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2015. The appointment will be made in The Polytechnic School in the Fulton Schools of Engineering.
