Siemens Corporation, Corporate Technology is accepting applications for a 6 to 12 months internship, starting October 2014 or later.
Siemens team has developed leading edge research in knowledge representation and reasoning, content management, and semantic web technologies including semantic content tagging and search. Moreover, we are utilizing the cutting edge cloud platform and tools to develop new semantic enabled data modeling and integration for smart data applications.
This internship is an exciting opportunity to participate in projects related to Semantic data integration, semantic content tagging and search. The goal is to develop an ontological knowledge base and search tool with heterogeneous data sources. As an intern, you will be involved in tool evaluation, system development, project reporting and meetings.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- A student majors in Computer Science or closely related fields
- A student seeking to write a diploma thesis or publish academic papers.
- Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, databases and Web Services.
- Experience with semantic Web technology including RDF/RDFS/OWL, and related tools (such as Protégé, Jena) and data stores.
- Good communication skill in English.
- Experience or courses taken in the following fields is a plus: Algorithms, Semantic Web Programming
- Experience in ontology related programming/research a plus: Lucence, Solr, OpenNLP, GATE, etc.
