We are seeking to enhance and expand our internationally leading, multi-disciplinary research portfolio with the appointment of an outstanding individual at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level (the appointment may be at Readership level for an exceptional candidate).
This is a strategic appointment aimed at linking the Department of Computer Science with the Centre for Assistive Technology andConnected Healthcare (CATCH) at the University of Sheffield. The aim of CATCH is to research and develop new user-friendly technologies that enable independent living and improve healthcare for older and disabled people.
You will hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related area (or have equivalent experience), and will have a track record of high-quality research in an area of computer science related to assistive technology or e-health.
For the first three years, the post will have a focus on building research activity that links CATCH and Computer Science. Thereafter, you will also play a key role in maintaining our reputation for high quality teaching by designing, delivering and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes in Computer Science.

Salary:
Lecturer Grade 8: £38,511 ? £45,954 per annum with potential to progress to £51,702 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
Senior Lecturer / Reader Grade 9: £48,743 ? £54,841 with potential to progress to £63,552 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
